Neyelov Yuri Vasilyevich (born on June 24, 1952, in Salekhard Tyumen region), the Governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.
In В 1974 graduated from Tyumen Institute of Industry with a Mechanical Engineer specialty.
In 1991 graduated from Moscow Management Academy.
Started his career in 1974 as a mechanic of a motor depot of Salekhard airline; later was in charge of a motor fleet.
In 1976 was appointed as an instructor of information and social actions department of the district committee of AULYCL (All-Union Leninist Young Communist League).
In 1977 was elected as the first secretary of Ural district committee of AULYCL.
In 1978 was appointed as the second secretary of Yamal-Nenets regional committee of AULYCL. A year later was elected to be the first secretary of Yamal-Nenets regional committee of AULYCL.
In 1982 was elected as the secretary of Salekhard city committee of Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
From 1983 to 1986 was the first secretary Tyumen regional committee of AULYCL.
From 1987 to 1989 was the chairman of executive committee of Surgut district Soviet of People's Deputies.
In 1989 was appointed as the chairman of subcommittee of USSR Soviet of the Union of Supreme Soviet committee on transport, connection, and information technology, Moscow.
From 1990 to 1992 - the chair of Surgut district Soviet of People's Deputies.
From 1992 to 1994 - an assistant to Tyumen region principal.
In February 1994 was appointed as acting principal of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District administration.
In 1996 was elected as the Governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.
In 2000 was re-elected as the Governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.
On March 11, 2005, State Duma of Yamal unanimously supported the candidature of Yu.V.Neyelov, put forward by the President of Russian Federation, to the position of the Governor of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District.
In 1986 was conferred on with a Decoration of Honor, a Decoration of Friendship in 1997, a Decoration of the IV degree for Services to the Country in 2002, a Medal for Development of Subsurface Resources and Expansion of Oil and Gas Complex of Western Siberia in 1980.
